What is Jefa?

Jefa is a community of women seeking to improve their lives and achieve their goals through accessible financial services and constant learning. As part of our community, our Jefas have access to a line of credit, tips for managing their money, tips to grow their businesses and alliances with products and services designed for them.

Credit Line

What is the Jefa subscription?

Jefa offers a monthly subscription to users who are part of our community. The subscription has an initial cost of $49 MXN and gives them access to exclusive benefits, alliances with services and products designed for them, and a revolving line of credit with 0% interest.

How does the subscription work to access the Jefa line of credit?

After being invited to join the Jefa Community by email, you must do three things:

• Open your account in the Jefa app or on the website.
• Fill in your information to request your subscription.
• Attach the necessary documents.

If your application is approved, you pay the cost of the monthly subscription and receive access to a line of credit with 0% interest and no additional fees..

At the time of receiving your credit, we will also put you in contact with an Amiga Jefa: a woman with interests and goals similar to yours who also has a line of credit with Jefa, to support each other in your credit process and in your endeavors.

If you manage your line of credit responsibly, you will be able to apply for a larger line of credit. You can pause or cancel your subscription at any time, as long as you don't have any active credits.

How much does the subscription cost to access the Jefa line of credit?

The cost of the subscription starts at $49 MXN per month. You can pause or cancel your subscription at any time, as long as you don't have any active credits.

How much will my line of credit be?

The first line of credit that we grant at Jefa is $500 MXN. If you manage your line of credit responsibly, you will be able to apply for a larger line of credit. The second line of credit with Jefa is $750 MXN and the third is $1,000 MXN. $1000 MXN is the maximum credit line amount you can request with the $49 MXN monthly subscription (higher lines of credit have a higher monthly subscription value).

How does the Jefa line of credit work?

At Jefa we offer a monthly subscription that gives you access to a line of credit with 0% interest. Everything is done through our mobile application (you do not have to go to a bank) and if approved, you receive your credit in 24 - 72 business hours.

If I manage my line of credit correctly, can I ask for a higher amount?

Of course! If you manage your line of credit responsibly, you will be able to apply for a higher amount line of credit. The granting of a line of credit of greater amount is not guaranteed. Each credit request is unique and will be analyzed independently.

How much can I request for a line of credit?

The first line of credit that we grant at Jefa is $500 MXN. If you responsibly manage your line of credit for a certain period of time, you will be able to apply for a larger line of credit. The second line of credit with Jefa is $750 MXN and the third is $1,000 MXN. $1000 MXN is the maximum credit line amount you can request with the $49 MXN monthly subscription (higher lines of credit have a higher monthly subscription value).

What is the payment scheme of my Jefa line of credit?

At this time, the lines of credit in Jefa are paid in two installments every two weeks. If your line of credit is $500 MXN, you must make two payments of $250 MXN every two weeks. If your line of credit is $750 MXN, you must make two payments of $375 MXN every two weeks. If your line of credit is $1,000 MXN, you must make two payments of $500 MXN every two weeks.

How is my line of credit paid?

At this time, the line of credit in Jefa is paid in two installments every two weeks through a SPEI transfer. No interest or additional fees if you pay your credit on time.

Can I choose how to make my payments?

At this time we are only offering lines of credit with two payments, two weeks apart.

Where can I pay my line of credit?

You can pay your line of credit through SPEI electronic transfers. You will receive by email the dates and other information to make your payments when your line of credit is approved.

What percentage of interest will I pay for my Jefa line of credit?

Credits with Jefa have 0% interest. The only thing you have to pay to have access to a line of credit with Jefa of up to $1000 MXN is the cost of the monthly subscription of $49 MXN. As long as you have an active credit you must pay the cost of the monthly subscription.

What are the requirements to request a line of credit with Jefa as part of your community?

1. Having been invited directly by the Jefa via email to belong to our Community.
2. Having created your account in the Jefa app.
3. Reside in Mexico.
4. Being over 18 years.
5. Have a valid INE.
6. Have a CLABE account in your name.

How long will it take to receive a response to the line of credit request?

You will know if your application was approved in 24 to 72 business hours if all the data and documents in your application are correct.

If my line of credit request is approved, how long will it take to receive the money?

If your request was approved, you will receive the deposit in 24 to 72 business hours after the contract is signed.

How do I receive the money from my credit after being approved?

You will receive it directly in a CLABE account that is in your name (the one that you have indicated in the application process).

What happens if I want to change the CLABE account where I receive my credit?

You must inform us immediately by email ayuda@jefa.io or through WhatsApp, from Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Can I receive the money from my credit in another person's account?

No. You can only apply for a line of credit with Jefa if you have a CLABE account in your name.

What happens if I don't have my own CLABE account where my credit can be deposited?

Having a CLABE account in your name is one of the essential requirements to receive a credit line with Jefa. If you don't have one, your application will not be approved.

Do I need to have a guarantee to authorize a loan?

No. At Jefa we do not request a guarantee to authorize credits.

Do I need to sign a promissory note to authorize a loan?

Yes. In the contract you sign accepting a credit from Jefa, you must sign a promissory note.

How much must I earn to be elegible for a line of credit with Jefa?

At Jefa we do not have a minimum monthly salary or earnings requirement to grant credits. We take into account factors other than the traditional ones to determine if a person will responsibly manage their credit.

What happens if I have a delay or I cannot pay my credit with Jefa?

If you have difficulties paying your credit with Jefa, you should contact us immediately at credito@jefa.io or through WhatsApp to agree on a plan that allows you to fulfill your credit commitment with us. If you do not contact us and do not make your credit payments, we will need to report the default of your payment to the Credit Bureau.

Do I have to have a credit history?

No. Currently at Jefa we do not check bureau to grant credits. We take into account factors other than the traditional ones to determine if a person will responsibly manage their credit.

Where can I see my account statement and how is the payment process of my credit going?

We will send you all the documents corresponding to your credit by email. If you have doubts or questions, we are at your disposal via email at ayuda@jefa.io and via WhatsApp, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

When paying by transfer, can I add or register an account?

Yes. You can add the Jefa account to your mobile banking or digital banking to make your line of credit payments more quickly. We will give you the data to make the SPEI transfers when your loan is approved.

Why does Jefa exist?

Our world was not built for women. Here are some examples:

- Speech-recognition software is trained on recordings of male voices: Google’s version is 70% more likely to understand men
- The average smartphone – 5.5 inches long – was designed for male hands. So it is too big for most women’s hands, and it doesn’t often fit in our pockets

What is the Jefa Community?

It is the community of women who are part of Jefa. These Jefas have access to our benefits and alliances on different platforms and spaces.

What is the Amiga Jefa program?

The idea of the Amiga Jefa program is to put you in contact (via email) with another Jefa who also has a line of credit with Jefa and with whom you have common interests and goals. The objective is for them to encourage each other in their management of their credits, give each other advice to fulfill their commitments and recommendations to improve their businesses or projects. We want to encourage women to support each other because together it is easier to achieve success.

I have not been invited by email to the Jefa Community. How can I be part of it?

We are gradually giving access to our Community. If you want to receive your invitation, sign up for our waiting list at www.jefa.io and keep an eye on your email.

What are the Jefa Community rules?

 We are empathic and aware of the realities of other Jefas, so we communicate respectfully and assertively.
• We are respectful of the diversity that makes up our community. No act of discrimination, hate or sexism is tolerated.
• We are respectful of the time other Jefas give us, so we are on time to our commitments.
• We are promoters of our talents and the talents of other Jefas. We value the effort and work of other Jefas. Therefore, any act of piracy or that violates the copyright of the intellectual property or material of its authors, will be reported.
• We are generous with our knowledge with other women. And we promote spaces in our community for the exchange of that knowledge. However, any content that threatens the integrity of those who make up this community will be removed immediately.
• We are women committed to our community and our families. Therefore, any act that threatens their safety or well-being will be reported..
